“Listen to the mustn’ts, child.
Listen to the don’ts.
Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts.
Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me…
Anything can happen, child.
Anything can be. ”
Shel Silverstein
We form our dreams as children. As very little people, we start to get a sense of who we are in this world, and who we are going to be. Those early years may be long gone, but the power that they have in our lives still remains. What messages did we get about who we were? What lessons did we learn around what we could or couldn’t do, or what we should or should not grow up to be?
For some, Shel Silverstein’s words ring true.
But what about the rest?
It’s important to think about what messages were sent to you as a child. Many people wonder why they might not feel confident, or optimistic, or open to new possibilities. Some question whether or not they deserve love, or happiness, or success. For too many those messages came from a time that is long gone…yet the impact continues to be felt in their lives today.
You can reclaim yesterday through new insights today.
You have the power to share, with the little person you used to be, (and to all the little people in your world today!) Shel’s promise of limitless possibility…
“Anything can happen, child.
Anything can be.”
